In 2001, Benjamin Tarry, a man of an imposing size with long, shoulder length gray hair and glasses, steps out of his orange Datsun pickup truck and into a self-storage facility in Sebastopol, California.  He rents a small storage unit, places in it three boxes, and never returns.  And that’s how the unit sits, untouched, until fifteen years later, in 2016, when Benjamin Tarry dies and his property is auctioned off.  The contents of those boxes?  Over 100 never-before-heard original songs by a mysterious band.

But what starts as a quest to unearth the anonymous musicians, as well as exploring the cultural impact of the music’s discovery, quickly becomes a probe into the secret lives of one American family, and the tragic wake they left behind.
